Usually soles of women’s espadrilles are flat, platform or wedge shaped, and possibly constructed from natural fiber or synthetic fiber rope, and on some occasions flexible synthetic materials crafted to resemble rope.  The making of espadrilles is typically more complex than sandals. Brooks Brothers had some outstanding shoes for women last season but the sizing ran super-small.  If we look at modern days, they are popular summer sandals, usually made for women in many countries.  We’d say they are associated with casual summer wear, including ladies clothing for cruise ships, and for those who want a dressier but still comfortable sandal style in warm weather.
